WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?

Ride baby ride!!!!!!!! That's what Jesus would do!!!! I want to be like Jesus!!!! Should I or shouldn't I? The voting begins - leave your vote below!

Comments:
Because I, too, am a married man, my vote is whatever Niki's vote is.

I think you need the safety course and the blessing of your wife.
Mark Hemingway

I think you should listen to your wife and keep peace in your home.

Who wears the pants in your family? I don't recall Jesus asking permission from a woman to bu anything. Here is an opportunity to teach submission and practice leadership. Pick out a bike, buy it, take it home. If it makes her feel better, hold your tithe for a few weeks so you can pay cash. That way she can't complain about a payment.

I think you would look cool on a bike and that any man over 40 who wants to and can afford it should ride.

There is nothing like riding down the highway with a high sense of awareness to sharping your mental skills. The awareness to your physical surrounding and risks, allows ideas to flow unhindered.

Take the safety course and ride!

If their is a financial issue Niki should definitely be involved.

There are lot's of riders in scripture. There are the donkey riders, of course donkeys would be Japanese bikes today.

Then there are the chariot riders, of course in a modern translation you might see Harley Davidson Road King instead of chariot.

Finally there are the camel riders, those are the BMW enduro people.

Of course Jesus rode a donkey more than once, so I'll leave it to you to decide what type of bike that might be today.

In I Timothy 3 Paul says an elder manages his family... In Acts 20, leaders are instructed to feed and shepherd God's flock...It's really amazing that you have done as well as you have without a bike...but, to take it to the next level these verses would indicate you need one. Seems to me that you are practically being called to have a bike, which would certainly help you relate/shepherd the men in your church and impact the world for Christ. Jesus and Paul both would have obviously ridden Harleys in America, BMWs in Europe and Hondas in the Vietnam and the far east...fitting in to each culture.

Absolutely, get the bike. Riding down a winding country road is nearly as spiritual as fasting.

As long as you get a side car and let me ride in it...my vote is for the bike.

Tough call...if Niki is opposed to it, then I wouldn't. I respect her immensely and value her opinions and thoughts. Personally, I have seen a lot of accidents as a result of motorcycles and their lack of safety, some of them in my own family. Safety courses are good. But they can't always ensure that you'll wear your helmet or that you'll be driving under the speed limit, am I right?

I prayed to Baby Jesus that He would use his Baby Jesus Powers to soften your wife's hard heart so you could get a really fast, really cool bike, that you and ride all over the earth helping Baby Jesus. Remember, if you ain't first, you're last.

Funny that all this strong advise is being left anonymous. They must be as afraid of Niki as you are (unless you are posting them).

Bob, you are a wild man. Ride the bike baby!!!

Hey Niki, I agree with you. If Bob goes over a cliff and bites it (which i am calculating as HIGHLY probable) my life gets a lot more hectic. But compromise Niki, let him get a lil Vespa. That way we can just roll him out onstage in his little electric wheel chair and he can talk with one of those board like Stephen Hawking. That'll be fascinating preaching.

Hey all you anonymous COWARDS!

You sit well on it. Have you looked at the KTM 950.

I think you should respect your wifes wishes after all it is a partnership. Maybe you could compromise and get a mo-ped!!!

Nothing like a motorcycle to build up our flesh life! Lord have mercy. Open our eyes Lord to the urgency of the times. Deny ourselves, pick up our cross and follow you Jesus. Oh Lord, forgive us for allowing our lusts and desires to lead our lives. Help us to live a life of self-denial. Lord, you are coming for a spotless bride. Make us ready.

Bob,

I can tell by looking at the front tire that's a sissy bike. If you really want to have fun, you need something with knobbies and a higher suspension. Come see me in Cambodia (where most on-road riding is still off-road riding) and I'll take you for a real ride. By the way, I sure would like to be with you on your current trip. Eat some of that good Hanoi pho for me.

You have taught me so much about marriage through the model you set in our home. I am just glad I am going into my marriage with the understanding I get to do whatever I want to do. I cannot ever imagine a day where I would want something and Ashley would tell me no. I am sorry mom doesnt support you in this endeavor.

Get a recumbent. Still lots of fun and you get some exercise.

Brother Bob,

I have great respect for you and your ministry and have consistently looked to you as a spiritual leader in my life. Your leadership of Northwood and your passion for Christ's church is a constant encouragement to this younger generation.

With all that said, I think you should definitely get the bike! Wild at Heart, right? Live in Freedom! (While you're at it, convince my mom to let me get one, too...I've wanted a bike for as long as I can remember!)
God bless,
Danny Hupp

Get it mate - but get a Harley and see about joining a Christian biker group... whew at least that is what I am telling myself!

As a wife who dreams of riding down the road with the wind in HER hair...I say "go for it!" But as a wife who respects my husbands desire to see me safe and sound and his VERY real experiences with how much harm these machines CAN cause...I say "be smart!" I dont think those two things are imposible together. Listen to your heart then educate your mind!
